In September, China conducted its ninth and tenth orbital launches of the month, deploying the Guowang broadband satellite and the Yaogan-40 reconnaissance satellite.
The missions were carried out using the Long March 8A rocket, which lifted off from a Chinese spaceport and placed both payloads into their intended orbits.
Guowang is part of a planned mega‑constellation designed to provide global internet coverage, eventually comprising thousands of satellites. Yaogan-40 enhances China’s Yaogan series, adding improved Earth‑observation capabilities for both military and civilian users.
These flights set the stage for a busy fourth‑quarter launch manifest, with additional missions planned to meet China’s annual launch cadence and to further expand its space‑based infrastructure.
